What a gem! A simple yet complex menu of local flavors. Its a casual place to eat a burger but it feels like it's so much more. The staff was very friendly and made my meal perfect.

Food was unique and tasted great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Free range chickens everywhere lol. Totally recommend this place. I will be going back.

Affordable prices and good food! Loved the unique twists on familiar plates. I had the chicken katsu bowl and love had the old school burger. We were both satisfied. Also this place is byob and have 1/2 burgers and bowls 4-6 on weekdays. Great local place

Absolute 5 star here.This place is excellent, I got a kimchi burger and the teriyaki sauce on it made for a great flavor. The beef is amazing, and cooked medium to perfection. The beef is a reflection of some happy Kauai grass-fed cattle. Definitely will eat here again. 2 couples there were back for 2nd night in a row.

The food was awesome! I had the truffle burger with furikake fries was off the hook. The spot is small but quaint and it has more room in the back outside to eat and chill.

Beer slurpee! Their burgers are amazing, but a little messy in a good way. The bun can't contain their unique sauces and "additives" like pineapple jalapeno slaw, but the flavors make up for the mess. Forget manners; just get in there and maw down! Put your fries under your burger and let the drippings add more flavor to the fries. If it's not raining, eat outside and watch the neighborhood chickens.

Sushi Burrito is fantastic. Great burgers. Friendly staff. This is a "can't miss" stop.

So... if you like Japanese/American... this is it! The freshness is there, the flavors never ending and quality on point. I went to try the Sushi Burrito and got the Lobster & Crab and it was so much worth it. I tried the fries as well and they were crispy and so flavorful. Plus the Old School Burger and the bread was toasty and buttery with a patty also full of flavor. Delicious!!! A must go.

Fantastic burger & fries shop. Flavorful sauces and great beef. Had the frozen beer. Not sweet like I expected it but still refreshing. The facility is the cleanest that we've seen in kauai. The folks helping us and the owner?! Are super inviting and patient. Mahalo!

Great burgers. The kenji burger was a great fusion burger and the meat was definitely great - also nice that's its made with local beef as well. The fish burger had a nice slab of fish that's marinated perfectly - flaky goodness. The Japanese burrito was rich and tasty. Lastly, the fries! Oh the fries are amazing - crispy, yet a little sweet from the sauces. I will say the prices are a little steep for what you're getting, but I think it's worth it to support this local (and locally sourced) business.

Had the Hana burger and the special fries. Was really delicious. My wife had the soft-shell crab burrito. She liked hers too.

Great place for a meal with some Asian fusion flair! We tried three of the burgers, a bowl, a sushi burrito, and the upgraded fries. Each meal was fantastic! We sat out back on the picnic benches. Our service was wonderful, the cashier was so wonderful and was happy to ask our questions. The menu is limited, so check the menu online.

Two things I liked about Kenji burger are they customer service and their menu. I honestly felt I was greeted so sincerely as soon as I walked into their restaurant. The menu choices were super interesting/creative and I couldn’t wait to taste their food. The reason my review only has three stars is because the taste of the food was three stars worth. The presentation of the food was very cool. The atmosphere of the place felt fun, but the way the food taste can improve. Perhaps I came in on an off day, and so next time I return to Kauai I will pay them a visit.

Delicious food! You can tell it’s fresh and carefully prepared. Everything we ordered was yummy - all totally different and unique. Also the service was great - friendly folks, quick and convenient, but didn’t feel like fast food. Thanks for the great experience!

I ate here several times while staying for a month on Kauai. Never had a bad meal, everything was always correctly prepared and delicious. I don't think you could make a mistake ordering anything here.

Great burger. Well cook. Had the Kenji burger and loved the sauce. Upgraded the fries and they were covered in sauce. Also had a Lychee shake. Very good shake with a different flavor. Works well.

Ok, but the meat was tough and tasted very gamey like I was eating old meat. Expensive for a fast food japanese flavored burger. Not the best and not the worst. If you wanna try some local flavors mixed in with your burger than this is for you. Personally I'd rather go to a normal burger place or eat at a regular Japanese resteraunt. I dont think these flavors blend well

I was hoping this would be a spectacular burger, it had the potentials to be. But the sauce was far too sweet and sticky for me. The green iced tea was nice, as was the crab sushi burrito. Oh- the burger bun (brioche?) was also really good. The fries with seaweed was also too sweet and I didn’t eat it.

So good. You can not go wrong here. Kenji burger is incredible and the sushi burritos are even better. Never heard of the place, just drove by and saw it, and very glad we did.

Wow, ordered a Kenji burger with Kenji fries and was blown away. The toasted bun, sauce and burger were delicious! Top off the great food with awesome staff it is a definite recommend. The parking in the dark was easy for me to miss and took some circling back around.

Great island flavors and interesting combinations. If you like sweet, salty, fatty comfort food, look no further. Their beers are great too

Oh my goodness where do I begin! The Kenji burger was amazing! The beef was literally just melting in my mouth. I usually dont eat aioli but decided to keep it on since it's a house specialty and I'm so glad I did! So apart from the burger being absolutely delicious, the staff was SUPERB, the true star of this visit! Michael at the counter was incredibly delightful to talk to, we asked questions and he never lost patience and always gave us answers with a huge smile! This matters! Please do visit Kenji Burger you deserve it!!

What a delicious and new take on an American classic. My husband and I both really enjoyed it. I would recommend walk (if possible)- the parking lot is a little on the small side. My husband and I walked (we were staying next to the Coconut Market Place). The next time we are in Kauai, this is definitely on our list of places to visit again!

My wife loves sushi and I love burgers. We stumbled upon this place and were amazed that it serves both. My wife said it was the best sushi shes ever had and i can say the burger was perfect. We came back twice more over our trip to try more stuff on the menu and every meal was amazing. The seaweed fries are a great side. Staff was really friendly.

I think Kenji burger seems like kind of Japanese flavor infused burger. Teriyaki sauce tastes little bit salty but it is okay taste for me, considering Kaua’i is much humid, hot. Having tried lots of burgers in CA, i feel like this burger is not that impressive. Good combination with Japanese component!

Perfect for exactly what it is- local, grass fed burgers, great teriyaki flavor. The Japanese burrito is similar to a large Onigiri packed with flavor. Perfect place to stop for a yummy grab-n-go lunch/dinner.

Super excited to try this place , have heard a lot from you tubers. So we went there on the first day of our trip to try but was alright nothing special about it.The girl on the counter was not so helpful at the same time not rude too.Have free parking space .

I dont normally post reviews unless the food is spectacular, but Kenji deserves it. On the island of Kauai it can be difficult to find great quality food at a reasonable price, yet Kenji has found the perfect balance. Their burgers are exceptional and I would recommend them to anyone visiting. I’d go as far as to say the best burgers in all of Hawaii. What makes it even better is that their staff is very friendly. 5 stars

Super jummy food reasonably priced. The guy working the counter was very nice to us "folks". They have a 3 picnic table outside area with great atmotphere under under the string light.

This place is awesome. The Japanese burrito was unlike anything I've had before, in a totally good way. My best explanation is that it's a burrito-sized hand-roll, and everything about it is perfectly balanced and delicious. We also had one of the burgers and a chicken katsu bowl. Again both of which were perfectly done and tasty. Lastly, the fries were fantastic. This place is a must go.

Let’s be honest. You didn’t come to Hawaii for the food. But if we’re being real, this place made our trip extra special. They use local Kauai beef, and the fusion flavors are on point. We stayed for a week and ate hear twice. It would be my first dinner if I ever make it back to this paradise.

First off.. the customer service is top notch, the guy taking our order was super helpful and had a awesome Attitude! The burgers, superb, the fries as good as they get.. they have burgers that are unique but yet familiar, super good flavors and textures.. you wont be disappointed.. but dont feed the chickens!

Great spot for a quick stop during a road trip around the island. Not only has Guy Fierri blessed this place, but the food is really unique and delicious! I had the Kenji Burger which is one of the most uniquely burgers I’ve ever had. Don’t miss out on this great stop!

Fusion Hawaiian burgers, frozen beer, miso cod burgers, and sushi burritos! Small, and busy. Japanese beers with frozen foam on top. Hapa burger was great. Miso black cod sandwich. Yum! Excellent Japanese sushi burrito.

If you're visiting or live in Kaua'i, you MUST try Kenji Burger. We stopped by on a recommendation and just loved it! Everyone in our party ordered something different, including Kenji Burger (pictured), Hapa Burger, Kenji Bowl, Lobster Burrito, and Furikake Fries (pictured). The food is unbelievably delicious!The staff at Kenji Burger are friendly, attentive and helpful.The cozy little building is nestled just off Kuhio Highway. Good sauce and perfectly cooked beef but nothing to write home about really. A good burger at a pretty high price and NOT generous with the fries. Place was pretty full but we found the tables in the back outside, and enjoyed our lunch.

The fries were way too salty. And the lobster sushi roll had more imitation crab salad than anything else. But my friend's burger was really, really good. So I guess you should stick with a burger at a place with burger in its name. Haha

For $19 each I expected to be wowed! It was featured on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. It would appear I should’ve gone for the burrito on the show. I just expect the Kenji burger, being it’s namesake, would’ve wowed me. It was smothered in sauce and really didn’t have much flavor other than the sauce. I was super excited about trying this out. I would go 3.5 stars but that’s not really an option. I will go back but it will be burrito time for sure!

I don't have the words to praise this place enough. Hands down THE BEST burgers I have ever had in my life. We tried the Kenji and the truffle burgers and the furikaki fries. Everything was absolutely phenomenal and perfectly cooked. If you're looking for the perfect meal, look no further. And if the food wasn't enough, the girls at the counter are extremely kind and give amazing customer service. If I could, i would give this place 10 stars
